The first all-jet bomber for the United States Air Force (USAF) the Boeing B-47 was a leap beyond anything yet seen in the bomber-realm of aircraft. Plus, it was to lead to the oldest and most-used jet bomber to-date, the Boeing B-52.
Warplane No.11 from Lanasta covers the Boeing B-47 Stratojet in an excellent mannor. It can be considered more of an overview of the aircraft than a book with more detail, but it covers this important jet bomber very well.
Naturally the book starts with the XB-47 and follows through all the way to its end with an unfortunate photograph of most of the B-47s at Davis Monthan AFB, waiting for destruction. A sad end to an excellent aircraft.
Not only is the type covered by period-photographs but there are also a lot of color photos as well. The book covers all of the major types of aircraft includeing the RBs.
Sure, this book doesn't contain a lot of small details on this aircraft, which modelers look for, but it does provide an excellent overview of the aircraft and coupled with the photos provided I definitely recommend this book.
Huge thanks to Lanasta for the review sample.
