One thing I've always thought was missing was a book dedicated to early P-40 Warhawks. There have been plenty of books on the P-40 released in the past, but none have dealt with just the early marks nor with the P-40 to this level of detail. There aren't any color profiles in this book but that's not what this book is about. If you're looking for profiles of P-40s it's best to look elsewhere; however, if you want a book with superlative, up-close detailed photographs, this is it.
The other excellent addition to this book are actual, period color photographs. If there ever was a doubt as to how the "long nosed" P-40s were finished immediately pre-war, these photos help to refute those doubts.
Personally I feel this is a "must have" book, not only if you enjoy pre-WW2 aviation, but especially if the P-40 does anything for you at all. It's an excellent book and I feel essential to the modeler.
