Euro Decals 1/48 North American F-100D Supersabre Collection Part 1
By Jacob Russell
This is one of Fantasy Printshop's exciting new 1/48th scale decal sheets for the North American F-100D Super Sabre in United States Air Force service. It has 4 very colorful aircraft options, as follows:
1) "FW-433", F-100D Super Sabre, 543th Tactical Fighter Wing, USAF, Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, South Carolina, USA. Montana Air National Guard, 1959. Overall natural metal with yellow nose band and fin.
2) "FW-404", F-100D Super Sabre, 832nd Air Division, USAF, Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico, USA, 1959. Overall natural metal with green/red/blue/yellow/green nose band and green/red/blue/yellow fin flash. Each color of the nose band is divided by a thin white band and the fin flash is edged in white.
3) "FW-307", F-100D Supersabre, 417th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 50th Tactical Fighter Wing, USAF, Ramstein Air Base, West Germany 1959. Montana Air National Guard, 1959. Overall natural metal with red nose band, drop tanks and red striped fin and rudder. Each of the 3 red areas had a band of white stars.
4) "FW-775", F-100D Supersabre, 615th Tactical Fighter Squadron, USAF, England Air Force Base, Louisiana, USA. Montana Air National Guard, 1959. Overall natural metal with a blue nose band and black checked fin and rudder.
Fantasy Printshop printed these decals and they are superb. They are crisply printed, fully legible, in register and have excellent color. The decal sheet doesn't include any stencils, which you can find on Fantasy Printshop's F-100D Insignia and Data sheet.
I've always been a Super Sabre fan. They were exciting aircraft finished with some of the 50's most colorful markings. If you're looking for a colorful 1/72nd scale F-100D you'll have 4 great options to choose from with this exciting new Euro Decals sheet. I recommend these decals and I would like to thank Fantasy Printshop for the review sample.
