Eduard 1/72 Spitfire F Mk.22 S.A
By Jacob Russell
This Eduard photo-etch set (item number 73436) is for the new Airfix Spitfire F Mk.22 kit. It consists of approximately 141 pieces on 2 frets, one of which is both self-adhesive and pre-painted. The self-adhesive fret is devoted to the cockpit and it includes items such as a new instrument panel, rudder pedals, compass, cockpit door and throttle quadrant. The second fret includes a seat with Sutton harness, seat armor, radiator faces, oleo scissors, roll-over pylon, fuselage access doors, wheelwell and gear door details...
This is a great set for a great kit! No one will confuse Airfix's new Spitfire kits with those from Sword, Special Hobby or CMR. Those kits are accurate, well detailed, expensive and somewhat hard to find. Airfix is after a different market. Their Mk.22 is accurate, well-detailed, inexpensive and it's available at your local hobby shop. I recommend this set and I would like to thank Eduard for providing the review sample.
