Eduard 1/72 Sea Harrier FRS1 Self Adhesive PE

This new set (item number 73 384) is for Airfix's recent Sea Harrier FRS1 kit. It consists of 74 pieces on 2 photo-etched frets, one of which is self adhesive and pre-painted, plus an acetate sheet containing 3 gun sight lenses.
The self adhesive fret contains 35 pieces, the majority of which are dedicated to the cockpit and canopy. It includes items such as a seat harness, gun sight, instrument panel, side consoles, throttle quadrant, rear fuselage chaff dispensers and pitot tubes. Additional items include upper decking details, canopy mirror and detonation chord, front landing gear door hinges/details,headlight, a windshield wiper and inner panels for the rotatable nozzles.
The second fret includes a ladder, rocket rail details and various aerials and airframe details.
Airfix has been on an extended run of exciting new 1/72nd kits. Their new series of Harriers is well detailed and accurate, albeit slightly lacking the finesse of Hasegawa's Harriers; but at a half the price Airfix is aiming at a different market. I would use the kit pitot tubes; their photo-etched equivalents are flat and one dimensional. I recommend this set and I would like to thank Eduard for the review sample.
