Eduard 1/72 RS-2US/AA-1 Alkali
By Matt Bittner
Once again, searching for information about the RS-2US/AA-1 takes me to Wikipedia:
The RS-2US is a derivative of the Kaliningrad K-5, known by NATO as the AA-1 Alkali. It's an air-to-air missile seeing first firings in 1955. The RS-2US version of the K-5 was put into use by the PVO, the Soviet Air Defense Forces, and was coupled with the Sukhoi Su-9 originally and was put into production in 1959.
The Eduard 1/72 RS-2US/AA-1 Alkali, set #672105, contains four missiles that consist of two pieces each: a front section and a separate rear section. The set also comes with two different pylons to attach the missiles to, the APU-7 and APU-4 so definitely check your references for which one you'll need on your model. Eduard also provides decals for the missiles so study the instructions for placement. The missiles were finished overall in silver.
If you're looking either for Alkali missiles for your build, or better-detailed replacements then by all means pick up this set from Eduard as the detail is outstanding.
I definitely send my "thanks" to Eduard for the review Alkalis.
