Eduard 1/72 MER Brassin
By Matt Bittner
The Multiple Ejection Rack (MER) is a weapon pylon that allows six types of stores to be mounted to a single pylon. Normally it's six types of bombs but could technically be any store.
This set of two 1/72 MERs (set #672 119) from Eduard in their Brassin line is an excellent release. If you want to add MERs to the aircraft you're building, and either don't have any or the ones in the kit are poorly detailed, you can do no wrong by picking up this set. It consists of 15 pieces of resin – three actual racks and twelve smaller parts for the sides – plus a photoetch set with 26 pieces of brass. Follow the instructions to build up the racks, paint, then add the supplied marking decals.
With the level of detail found on these racks I honestly don't think I could "cover them up" by adding ordnance and would leave them bare. But in any event, whichever you decide these racks will look great on a finished model.
I definitely thank Eduard for sending these to review.
