Eduard 1/72 Ki-61-Id Landing Flaps
By Jacob Russell
Hasegawa's 1/72nd scale Kawasaki Ki-61 was the best game in town for a number of years and then Dragon and Fine Molds came out with more detailed kits of different variants, that are both more expensive and difficult to find (eBay?). RS Models has also released some Ki-61 kits and then Tamiya joined the fray with a downsized version of their 1/48th scale Tony. Tamiya's Ki-61 is at the top of the class and Eduard has introduced a number of sets for it, including this set of landing flaps. I recommend the flaps for the experienced modeler. You will need a folding tool, Optivisor or your preferred magnifying device. The end result will be a superbly detailed set of flaps; just follow Eduard's well illustrated and logical assembly instructions.
Well, if you like your flaps deployed here you go. Once again this is aimed towards the modeler with lots of experience working with photo-etch. I recommend the flap set and I would like Eduard for the review sample.
