Eduard 1/72 ICM MiG-25PD Aftermarket
By Matt Bittner
Overview
Back in 2008 ICM released a new-tool MiG-25, to the delight of many. Fast forward ten years and in 2018 ICM again re-tools their MiG-25 and has released a few versions, including the PD. Now Eduard produces aftermarket for that release.
The Aftermarket
First up is Eduard's typical masks for the model. In their usual fashion not only do they provide masks for the canopy, but also for the wheels.
Next is their "Zoom" photoetch, normally a smaller sub-set of their full photoetch set. The pieces in this set are cockpit-only and consist of items to add to the side consoles, after performing some "plastic surgery"; small items to place on the new sidewalls; a seat cushion and "head knocker" for the seat, along with a full complement of belts and ejection handle; even more items for in and around the cockpit; instrument panel items after sanding the instrument panel of molded-on detail; and finally replacement rudder pedals.
Conclusion
If you're looking for cockpit detail to add to your ICM 1/72 MiG-25PD then this is it. You'll definitely want to open the canopy after adding all of these photoetch goodies. Plus the masks are - I feel - a must.
My thanks to Eduard for the review items.
