Eduard 1/48 Spitfire Mk.IX Stencils

This new set of stencils (item number D48015) is for Eduard's new Spitfire Mk.IX kit, but they are applicable to any Spitfire variant. This comprehensive sheet contains 44 stencils. It includes wingwalks, general stencils for the entire airframe plus markings for the propellor and spinner. A nice touch is a set of decals to depict the red doped fabric patches for the wing machine gun ports. The decals are well printed, in register, and even the smallest lettering is legible. The decal sheet comes with a well illustrated diagram that shows you exactly where to apply them.
I like Eduard's decision to produce stencils for their newer kits. They will also enhance other Spitfire kits, especially those from Tamiya and Hasegawa which are known for thick decals with copious carrier film.
