Eduard 1/48 Seatbelts France WWII STEEL
By Jacob Russell
France produced some fighter planes during World War Two that are great modeling subjects. These include the Dewoitine D 520, Morane-Saulnier MS 406, Bloch MB 152, and the Arsenal VG 33.
Kits of these aircraft are available in all of the popular scales. In 1/48th there are kits from Tamiya (D 520), AZ Models (MS 406), and Fonderie Miniatures (MB 152 and VG 33), among others. Eduard has introduced a new set of steel photo-etch seat belts that are applicable to any of these planes. This useful set includes 8 pairs of harnesses, with either 4 or 5 parts. The number of parts you use depends on whether or not you choose the harness style that includes a piece that passes between the pilot's legs.
These belts are pre-painted and they will be easy to use. You can use either 5 minute epoxy or your preferred super glue for assembly.
I am a big fan of French aircraft of World War II. Some of them are quite elegant (VG 33, D 520), others are rather workmanlike (MB 152). They all have wonderful multi color camouflage patterns that are quite challenging to paint. I recommend this set to experienced modelers, and I would like to thank Eduard for the review sample.
