Eduard 1/48 Ju 88A-4 Interior
By Jacob Russell
This set is for ICM's new Junkers Ju 88A-4 kit. It consists of 113 pieces on 2 frets. One of the frets is pre-painted, and its parts are for the cockpit. You get a new instrument panel, highly detailed radio faces, machine gun cocking handles, gun sights, and a number of boxes, switches, throttle quadrants, etc. for the cockpit sidewalls. There is also a small sheet of clear acetate that contains a pair of dial faces. The radio faces are some of the most impressive parts. Their detail has to be seen to be believed. Eduard does a fantastic job of printing minuscule detail on some very small items.
The second fret is unpainted, plain brass. It includes ammunition boxes and belts and their holding tray, gun sight support, rudder pedals, oxygen bottle holders, traverse rings for the canopy mounted machine guns, etc.
ICM's Ju 88 kits have been well received. They are reasonably accurate and well detailed. But there are very real limits to injection molding technology, and this set addresses this with many details to dress up the interior.
I recommend this set and I would like to thank Eduard for the review sample.
