Eduard 1/48 Brassin Bf109G-6 wheels
By Jacob Russell
This pair of Brassin wheels, although marketed for Eduard's own Messerschmitt Bf109G-6 kit, is applicable to most Bf109G-5, G-8, G-10 (with narrow wheels), and G-14 kits as well. Eduard thoughtfully includes a set of masks. The detail of the wheels is impressive and they will be easy to remove from their resin bases.
I think the small details are important. Sometimes I can recognize a built up kit's identity at contests by the wheels. This might strike some as a minor or even obsessive detail, but some companies (Hobbycraft and Academy come to mind) occasionally get the wheels wrong! Inaccurate wheels stick out like the proverbial sore thumb. These are the first parts I throw away.
Eduard has moved light years away from their limited-run kits with complex, photo-etched "origami" cockpits, in lieu of detailed plastic parts and now resin parts as well.
Their injection molding is equal to AccuTamiGawa and the upstarts from China (Trumpeter, Meng, etc). I applaud them for expanding into resin to enhance their kits, as well as those of other manufacturers.
I recommend this Brassin set and I would like to thank Eduard for the review sample.
