Begemot 1/72 MiG-31 Decals, Part 2
By Matt Bittner
Begemot has recently started re-doing some of their older sheets. For this release it's the 1/72 MiG-31. This is an extremely comprehensive set! Not only do you receive decals for 50 airframes (including all stenciling for an aircraft) but you also receive stencils for all the ordnance. I won't go into all 50 because there is a wealth of knowledge in the instruction sheet and it's best to just purchase the set and decide that way.
The sheet starts out with decals for the first serial MiG-31 that belonged to the Mikoyan bureau, going though the early production batches, continuing into the MiG-31B, -BS, -DZ and ending with that last, the –BM. Not only are the typical all-gray aircraft covered, but there are also some very colorful MiG-31s as well where parts of the wings, fuselage and fin were painted intermediate blue. There are three of those, so if you're looking for something other than the overall gray aircraft, then Begemot has you covered. All in all an excellent release for the Zvezda, Condor or ICM kits. By all means if you want something other than the stock-box options, pick up this decal set from Begemot.
My thanks to Begemot for sending this sheet in for review.
