APC Decals 1/72 Letov S-162 Vyškovský vrabec
By Matt Bittner
Overview
There were a number of Heinkel He 162s that were flown by "other" air forces after World War II. One of those actually flew in Czechoslovokia.
The Decals
This decal set is that single He 162 (flown as Letov S-162). According to the instructions construction was started on an airfield in the Vyškov region and while working, part of the ground gave way to reveal underground workshops with a number of He 162 parts. Letov was tasked to take some of these parts to create a flyable He 162 (redesignated as S-162). It had flown for some time until it didn't fulfill a "mission" then was scrapped and no longer flown. It's still unknown of the fate of the entire airframe, but according to the instructions the tail section still exists.
Decals are nicely printed and appear in register. I have a few of the Brengun 1/144 kits and now have another option to finish one in alternative markings. Excellent.
Huge thanks to APC Decals for supplying these decals to review.
