Eduard’s latest batch of color photo-etched medals and insignia covers the Soviet military at the end of WWII. The set includes rank shoulder boards as well as various medals. As with all Eduard colored PE sets, the parts a nicely done and the color printing is superb.
The rank sets include NCO and enlisted men as well as officers for the Infantry, Armored, Artillery, and Engineering divisions. What is really nice is that Eduard has included a sheet showing the ranks for each division, as well as giving a list of the rank names in Cyrillic Russian, Phonetic Russian, English, and US Army equivalent.
The set also includes a very complete set of the Russian military medals and awards. This set includes everything from the highest award of the Order of the Red Banner to the lowest award of the Medal Gold Star of Hero of Soviet Union. There are several of each award, and like the rank epaulets, a list of the awards is given, including the Russian name, Russian Cyrillic, and the English name.
This latest set of Soviet ranks and medals is a great addition to the growing line of Eduard color PE ranks and medals sets. This set can be combines with Eduard’s great German sets to add enhanced detail to any Eastern Front diorama. Our thanks to Eduard for sending us his great review sample.
