GB Modelli 1/72 Autoblinda Fiat Terni (Tripoli Type)
By Matt Bittner
Introduction
The Fiat Terni was built in 1918 and only 12 examples were built. Since it was too late to serve during WW1, it was used in Libya, specifically the conquests of the oasis of Giarabub and Kufra during the mid-1920s.
The Kit
The GB Modelli Autoblinda Terni consists of ten pieces of cream-colored resin. That's it. Just ten pieces, and the resin is really well done. While it's softer than some resin, the detail level is still outstanding, and with only ten pieces it should assemble quickly.Mount the suspension to the one-piece body, add the turret and the gun, and now you're ready to paint. Once you finish painting then glue the wheels on, weather, and you have yourself a very unique piece of Italian history in model form.
Note that the color the Terni was finished in was grigio verde scuro, with a match of Humbrol 116.
Conclusion
If you're looking for a unique piece of 1/72 armor and/or need to get out of an AMS "funk", then you can do no wrong by picking up GB Modelli's Fiat Terni. It's an excellent model with first rate casting, and will look great when finished.
