Wolfpack Decals 1/48 "Air and Ground" 48-002

By Matt Bittner

We've received our first two samples of Wolfpack Decals this month. This review is for their second 1/48th sheet titled "Air and Ground". You'll find the following aircraft covered:

  • F-4D 60-267, 555th TFS, 8th TFW, Ubon AFB, Thailand, Sept. 1972, Pilot Capt. John Madden. This is an aircraft in all-over SEA camo with the words "Miss Martha" as "nose art"
  • F-16C+, 170th Fighter Squadron, 183rd Fighter Wing, Illinois ANG, Capital Airport, 2007, piloted at the time by Capt Dale Bush
  • A-10A Thunderbolt II, 357th Fighter Squadron, 355th Fighter Wing, Davis-Monthan AFB, Tucson, AZ, 2006
  • MC-130E, Operation Eagle Claw, Iranian Hostage Rescue Mission, finished in an overall green/black scheme

Wolfpack creates their decal sheets a lot differently than others, as you can tell. Instead of a decal sheet covering one single subject (say a sheet for nothing but A-10s) Wolfpack releases their sheets covering a number of different aircraft. It appears it works well because their first 1/72nd sheet is now all sold out.

Wolfpack decals are printed by Fantasy Printshop and are very well done and in register. These are nice decals and I'm looking forward to using them. One awesome item about Wolfpack is their instruction sheet. Extremely thorough and the history of each aircraft is pretty complete. Others should mirror the way Wolfpack handles instructions.

My thanks to Wolfpack Decals for these decals.
