Decals 1/48 Wild Boars: Mountain Home F-15C/D
Afterburner Decals has been producing some of the finest decals for
modern US aircraft, and one of their newest sheets is no exception. Sheet
AD48-029 is for the F-15C/D’s of the Wild Boars stationed at Mountain
Home AFB, Idaho. These decals are sized for the 1/48 scale Hasegawa kits.
This sheet provides markings for five different aircraft, or which there
are sufficient markings to complete two aircraft models.
The first aircraft is F-15C, 86-0157, and in 2006 was flown by LT COL
Jeffrey Prichard who was the Commanding Officer of the 390th Fighter Squadron.
The second aircraft is F-15D, 86-0181, and in 2003 was flown by LT COL
John Rogers and MAJ David Alexander.
The third aircraft is F-15C, 86-0146, and in 2006 was flown by CAPT
Jonathan Berardinelli.
The
fourth aircraft is F-15C, 86-0168, and in 2006 was flown by CAPT Kevin
Coleman.
The fifth aircraft is F-15C, 86-0170, and in 2006 was flown by CAPT
Greg Young.
All of these aircraft are in the paint scheme of FS 36176 over FS 36251.
There are 3 full pages of color instructions for placement of decals
for these aircraft, along with a full page Stencil Guide.
This is a very nice sheet honoring the 390th Fighter Squadron, 366th
Fighter Wing at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho.
The decals are beautifully printed by Cartograf and are in perfect register.
There is the typical main decal sheet along with two smaller sheets for
the tail markings of the Wild Boars. The tail flashes for each fin of
each aircraft are three part decals.
This and all Afterburner
Decals can be found at their website.
My thanks to Scott Brown of Afterburner Decals for this review sheet. |
