Afterburner
Decals 1/48 Jammin’ Jihad EA-6Bs in Afghanistan
Afterburner Decals has been producing decals since its beginning for
aircraft that have, well, afterburners!! One of its newest releases is
for an aircraft that does not have an afterburner, the EA-6B Prowler.
Sheet 48-028 is for the Revell/Monogram EA-6B Prowler kit in 1/48 scale,
and features markings from two units based at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan,
VAQ-133 & VAQ-142.
EA-6B, 161120, NL/530, VAQ-133, is camouflaged in a very different combination
of browns and tans. This is a look never before seen on the Prowler
EA-6B, 160437, NL/520, VAQ-142, is camouflaged in combination of grays
that is totally new for the Prowler. It also features a shark mouth under
the nose of the aircraft.
EA-6B, 161243, NL/521, VAQ-142 is in the standard 3-tone gray scheme
for the Prowler.
EA-6B, 164402, NL/522, VAQ-142 is in the standard 3-tone gray scheme
for the Prowler.
EA-6B, 163400, NL/533, VAQ-142 is in the standard 3-tone gray scheme
for the Prowler.
This
decal package consists of a large decal sheet with the individual aircraft
markings, along with two smaller sheets of stencils, and has been beautifully
printed by Cartograf with a minimum amount of carrier film for each decal.
There are sufficient markings and stencils on this sheet to complete a
minimum of two aircraft.
The instructions are printed on four pages and they include both side
drawings as well as top and bottom views of each aircraft so the camouflage
can be properly painted. A Stencil Guide is also provided for placement
of various stencils on this sheet.
If you want an aircraft that will be different and unique in your collection,
then dig out those Prowler kits because this decal sheet is for you. This
sheet is very highly recommended.
This and all Afterburner
Decals can be found at their website.
My thanks to Scott Brown of Afterburner Decals for this review sheet. |
