Afterburner Decals 1/48 "F/A-18A+ F/A-18C OIF 2006-2007 GOLDEN WARRIORS" By Frank Anselmo

Another new release from Afterburner Decals is AD48-018, F/A-18A+ and F/A-18C from Operation Iraqi Freedom during 2006 and 2007 GOLDEN WARRIORS of VFA-87. The sheet measures nearly 8 ½ by 11 inches, and is jammed with enough decals to produce six different aircraft. Also included are 5 full pages of colored instruction sheet, along with a black and white Stencil Guide for these aircraft.

The title for this sheet is a little misleading as the first 2 aircraft are actually F/A-18C’s from Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. The first is the F/A-18C which was the 2003 CAG aircraft, and the other is the F/A-18C which was the XO aircraft in 2003.

From 2006 is the F/A-18C which was the CAG aircraft, and the F/A-18C which was the XO aircraft.

In 2007 VFA-87 transitioned to the F/A-18A+. Markings are provided for the CAG aircraft, as well as 2 line jet, 403 and 411.

Also included is a full page of Weapons and Stores used on these aircraft, and includes many, many options. There is also a Painting Guide, which is the current Navy Tactical Scheme of Dark Ghost Gray on the fuselage top, and Light Ghost Gray on the bottom. These decals have been sized to the 1/48 Hasegawa kits, but with a little trimming should fit other kits as well. The decals themselves are in perfect register being printed by Microscale.
