A new series aimed specifically at modelers, the Mark I Dozen Set provides documentation, drawings, photos, and decals for twelve aircraft. The first book covers the Ilyushin Il-10, which is now available from Special Hobby in 1/48, and from KP/Kopro in 1/72. The format for this book is simple: photos and text of an aircraft on one side, and a four-view color illustration on the other side. The aircraft covered include:

Il-10 “White 2”, VVS KA, Germany, late spring 1945. This plane is camouflaged in A-24m Dark Green, A-32m Dark Grey, and A-21m Light Brown over A-28m Light Blue-Grey.

Il-10 “Red 24”, 200th ShAD, VVS KA, East Germany, June 1956. This Ilyushin is camouflaged in A-24m Dark Green over A-28m Light Blue-Grey.

Il-10 “White 57”, VVS KA, Kuibyshev Airfield, Soviet Union, late 1940s. This aircraft is also camouflaged in A-24m Dark Green over A-28m Light Blue-Grey.

B-33, “White NV-57”, 3rd Squadron, 30th Attack Air Regiment, Czechoslovak Air Force, Piestany Air Base, 1953-1958. A-24m Dark Green over A-28m Light Blue-Grey.

B-33, “White UF-93”, 4th Training Regiment, Military Air Training Establishment, Czechoslovak Air Force, Prostejov-Stichovice Air Base, September 1952. This aircraft has broad yellow bands on the wings.

B-33, “White 5256”, 3rd Squadron, 45th Artillery Observation Air Regiment, Czechoslovak Air Force, Plzen-Line Air Base, 1960-62. This aircraft is camouflaged in Smalt Avion 2036 Khaki MNO over Avion 2036.65 Light Blue.

Il-10, “Blue 5”, 5th Attack Air Regiment, Polish Air Force, early 1950s. This Ilyushin is finished in A-24m over A-28m.

Il-10, “Yellow 29”, 23rd Attack Air Regiment, Hungarian Air Force, Tapolca Air Base, mid-1950s. A-24m Dark Green over A-28m Light Blue-Grey.

Il-10, “White 49”, 63rd Attack Air Group, Romanian Air Force, late 1950s. Finished in A-24m over A-28m.

B-33, “White 103”, 12th Attack Air Regiment, Plovdiv Air Base, Bulgarian Army Air Force, 1950s. Finished in Khaki over Light Blue, with the original Czech markings overpainted.

Il-10, “White 33”, People’s Liberation Army Air Force, mid-1950s. Camouflaged in A-24m Dark Green over A-28m Light Blue-Grey.

Il-10, “White 54”, 57th Attack Air Regiment, Kimpo Air Base, Korean People’s Army Air Force, summer of 1950. A-24m Dark Green over A-28m Light Blue-Grey.

In addition to the individual aircraft photos, there are a handful of detail photos of a museum example, which will be of great use to those building a model of one of these planes. My thanks to 4+ for the review copy.
