M-1126 Stryker Photo Etch Sets

By Kent Kirkpatrick

The following photo-etch sets are for the Trumpeter 1/72 M-1126 Stryker kit.

#22-127 M-1126 Stryker ICV

This PE set is for general detailing on the Stryker including upper and lower hull as well as further detailing for the .50 caliber machine gun. Here you will find enhancements for replacing grab handles, tow clevis, screens, light mounts, hatch detail, jerry can mounts, external stowage mounts and others.

#22-129 M-1126 Stryker ICV Slat Armor

If you would like to take a step further in detailing your Stryker try this slat armor set. It is a little more challenging step but worth while. Here you can make your Stryker into the version that is currently used in Iraq as a urban upgrade. The challenge is the delicate and numerous mounting brackets. The slat armor is finely detailed but flat (vertically) rather than horizontal as on the actual vehicle. The finished product would be eye catching to say the least. Included in this set are some other external upper hull detailing including spaced armor plate which you are instructed to use cut rod as spacers.

Conclusion

As usual, Eduard's level of detail is very well done in 1/72 scale especially the grills and stowage straps (nice buckle detail). I highly recommended both sets but the slat armor set will take some patience and skill but the results would be worth it. I would like to thank Eduard for the review sets.
