32-003 – U.S. Navy F3F-3 (VF-5 USS Yorktown & VF-6 USS Enterprise):This two sheet set, which is designed for the Revell/Monogram F3F-3 kit, provides the modeler a choice of markings to do one of two VF-5 aircraft or one from VF-6. Both VF-5 aircraft are section leaders that operated off of the USS Yorktown in May of 1939. The VF-6 scheme is for a section member that operated off of the USS Enterprise in August of 1940. 32-004 – U.S. Navy F4F-3 “Wildcat” (VF-41 USS Ranger & VF-72 USS Wasp):Again, like 32-003, this is a two sheet set. Designed for use with the Trumpeter F4F-3 kit, the set provides the modeler a choice of markings (all of which are yellow wing) for either an aircraft from VF-41 or one of two from VF-72. The VF-41 scheme is for a section member that operated off of the USS Ranger in early 1941, while the VF-72 markings are for section leader aircraft that operated off of the USS Wasp about the same time. 32-011 – U.S. Navy F2A-2 “Buffalo” (VF-2 USS Lexington & VF-3 USS Saratoga): This two and a half sheet set, is designed for use with the Special Hobby Buffalo kit. Included in this set is a choice of markings to do either a pre-war yellow winged VF-2 Buffalo that operated from the USS Lexington, a VF-3 non spec gray F2A-2 that was assigned to the USS Saratoga, or another non spec gray F2A-2 that was used for squadron training. I should note here that although the VF-2 aircraft would seem to be the most colorful, the two non spec gray F2A-2s certainly have their appeal. This is especially true of the squadron training aircraft which sported very oversized national insignias and a horizontally striped red and white rudder.
