Pavla 1/48 Mil Mi-24 Accessory Sets

I have always been impressed with the Mi-24 Hind ever since I saw them in the movie “Red Dawn.” Now I know that those were actually Puma helicopters, with a rather large amount of reworking done, but in the movie, they still managed to capture that menacing look of the Hind helicopter. Since then, we have seen quite a few kits of the Hind come out, most recently the Trumpeter 1/35 kit.

Pavla has released a couple of detail sets aimed at the 1/48 Hind modelers, the first of which contains a set of wheels. The main wheels on the Hind tend to show a rather pronounced bulge when on the ground, and these resin replacements accurately reflects that. The hub detailing is also quite nice, and these should make for a much better replacement of the kit parts.

The second set is an important one, as it contains the ASO-2V chaff/flare dispensers. These are quite prominent on current Hind helicopters, and these simple add-ons will greatly help the modeler in building a modern Mi-24. These include the two large side dispensers and one underneath the rear tail boom. The parts in both of these sets are nicely cast and will require only a slight bit of cleanup before applying them to your model.
