Decales de Guido 1/200 Delta Air Lines 75th Anniversary 767-200

In the Spring of 2004, Delta Air Lines celebrated their 75th Anniversary
by painting a special 767-200 in a very special paint scheme. N102DA is
known as The Spirit of Delta because the aircraft was purchased for the
airline by the employees of the airline (the airline industry was a MUCH
different place at the time…) Throughout her service with Delta,
ship 102 has always had special “Spirit of” titles painted
on the fuselage with the Delta titles and logo (for both the earlier Widget
paint scheme and the newer Beach Towel/Deltaflot scheme) The 75th Anniversary
paint scheme is a tribute to an early bare-metal color scheme, though
disappointingly, Delta chose a base color of gray instead of polished
bare metal. Prior to her retirement, ship 102 was repainted in her original
Widget scheme colors and flown around the Delta system on a “farewell”
tour.

This decal is intended for the Doyusha 1/100th scale 767-200 kit, a
converted 1/144th scale Revell-Germany B767-300 kit, or the 1/200th scale
Hasegawa 767-200 kit. My review sheet is in 1/200th scale. The modeler
will need to paint the fuselage, tail, and engine nacelles FS 16440 gray.
Wings and horizontal stabilizers are Boeing gray with bare metal leading
edges and Corogard center sections on the wings and horizontal stabilizers.
All fuselage stripes, windows, doors, overwing escape paths, and logos
are included on the decal sheet. Those modelers that prefer open windows
will have their work cut out for them, as the fuselage windows are printed
as part of the fuselage stripe (not sure about the larger scale sheets).
For those of us who use window decals, this is a great help in aligning
everything on the model. Print quality is excellent, noticeably improved
over some of the earlier Guido sheets. Color saturation is good, and fine
details are very clear. Decales de Guido decals are ALPS-type decals.
They are printed on a solid sheet of clear carrier film, which means each
artwork piece must be cut out individually before putting the decals in
water.
This decal joins other Delta Air Lines subjects in the Decales de Guido
portfolio, including a C-130 Freighter, Convair 880, Delta Express Power
Puff 737-200 and the Soaring Spirit Salt Lake City Olympics 757. Contact

are available.
