Cutting Edge 1/32 Multiple Ejector Rack
|
With Trumpeter releasing some classic Vietnam US aircraft (namely,
the F-105 and A-7D), and other subjects readily available (Hasegawa's
A-4 and Tamiya's and Revell's F-4s), this set is not really much of a
surprise. What is a surprise is just how complex this set actually is.
The first piece that jumps out is the main rack body. This long piece
is nicely cast, and provides a solid base to which the rest is attached.
Branching out from this, there are separate centerline racks and angled
racks (which are different), separate mounting brackets, and separate
sway braces. The instructions are very clear and after reading through
them a couple times, there should be no problem in assembling this set.
Just be sure to read the instructions, so you don't miss anything. There
are also different steps to take depending on whether you load the rack
with weapons or not.
This is a beautiful accessory that will force you to build much better
looking bombs, just to do it credit. The only downside is that there
is only one rack included, so if you need one for each wing, you'll have
to buy two sets. However, these generally were used on the centerline
station, with TERs under the wings, so it probably is not going to be
much of a problem. Here's hoping that Cutting Edge adds to this with
a similarly detailed Vietnam-era TER.
