Trackbase Badges

By Matt Bittner

Trackbase is a relatively new company that specializes not only in bases for armor models (see other New Release article) but also in resin copies of WW2-era uniform badges.

In some cases, Trackbase has copied real badges for their products - in other cases, they are exact duplicates of the real badges. In any event, all badges are very nicely cast with little to no air bubbles as well as very little - if any - flash. With the proper washes and drybrushes these badges could be made to look exactly like the real thing.

One possible use for these badges is to adorn model bases. I have seen models entered in various competition, attached to a base, and using a badge for adornment. Now, instead of trying to track down an expensive original - or copy - you can have a relatively inexpensive resin copy with which to attach to the base. You could also couple one of these badges with Trackbase's actual "Trackbase" to set that base off even more.

My thanks to Trackbase for the review samples.
