Maquette 1/35 GAZ-67 Light Artillery Tractor w/ 45mm gun and limber

By Don Barry

The Kit

The kit consists of seven sprues, 217 parts, molded in threecolors

INSTRUCTIONS:

Exploded view, parts map, brief history, 13 steps. Some diagrams are printed small, some parts placement is ambiguous.

TRACTOR:

Some parts overly thick, detail moderate to minimal. Heavy flash on one of the three sprues. Ejector marks are minimal. These parts are molded in olive plastic.

LIMBER:

These parts are molded in white plastic, somewhat softer than those of the tractor. There is some flash, but not bad. Faint to very faint detail on some parts. Some of the smaller parts suffer from overly thick attachment points. Limber uses the same wheels as found on the gun sprues.

GUN

Molded in gray plastic on three sprues. The wheel spoke detail is very nice, requiring minimal clean up. Some small flash visible on gun carriage parts. Some shrinkage dimples visible on thicker parts. There are ejector marks and flash on the gun mount pieces. The gun shield pieces are rather thick, but appear accurate and could be thinned readily or remade if desired. There are plenty of full and spent shells included, as well as ammunition crates.

Conclusion

This is a decent kit, treating a nice, seldom seen subject. Moderate filling will be needed on some parts. I would recommend this kit to moderately experienced builders. A definite must-have for WW II Russian fans.

My thanks to MMD-Squadron for graciously donating this kit for our review.
