Mirage Hobby, producer of the excellent range of the 1/400 U-Boats provided the modelers also with Photo Etched Detail Sets for their models. Photo etched parts are especially suited for small scale naval models, as these contain such delicate and complex things like railings, various antennae, masts and other stuff which is almost impossible to replicate in other medium. Each PE fret is provided with detailed assembly instruction drawing.

1/400 U-Boot IIA

PE fret contains finely detailed deck, railings, propellers, anchor, bow saw, and number of the panels with holes for the board ballast vents, as the original kit ones are not even. Final addition is the plaque with name of the boat which can be applied on the model base.

1/400 U-Boot VIIC Turm I

Fret contains two parts of the deck, railings, anchor, deck gun base (looking like the spider web), saw, various hatches, two propellers and other details. Plaque with the name of the boat is provided for the model base.

1/400 U-Boot IX A

Brass fret contains two parts of the main deck, small deck for the conning tower with attached AA gun railing, two ladders, two propellers, anchor, hatches and several other small details. Set includes plaque with the name of the boat for the model base.
