Red Roo 1/72 & 1/48 CAC Boomerang "Miss Albany"

By Chris Banyai-Riepl

Fresh from Red Roo Decals are these 1/72 & 1/48 decals for the CAC Boomerang "Miss Albany," coded BF-M, of No. 5 Squadron RAAF. According to the instructions, this plane had a short service life, having been built by CAC late during WWII. It reached 5 Squadron on May 11, 1945 and converted to spares on January 7, 1946. The finish was overall Foliage Green, with white New Guinea theater markings on the leading edges of the wings and the entire tail.

The decal sheet provides a set of full roundels. These are separated into blue rings with a separate white discs. The serial number is printed in black, and the rest of the decal sheet consists of the white fuselage codes, nose number, and "Miss Albany" name. The decals are printed on continuous film and are very thin, so care is needed in applying these. Since the majority of the decal sheet is white, on a white paper, not much shows up on the scan, but the quality is high, with crisp edges.

This is a great option for your 1/72 or 1/48 Boomerang kit, and their thin quality should look wonderful once in place. My thanks to Red Roo for the review sample.
