This book is an excellent reference on aircraft camouflage and markings of the United States Army Air Corps (USAAC) from 1926-1941 (just as the title relates) between the wars aircraft ('tweeners). Not only are there plenty of color profiles to show most of the different versions of the camo, there are also a lot of pictures of most (if not all) of the aircraft that flew for the USAAC during this time frame.

A book like this has been long in coming. Unfortunately I don't have the Monogram book covering the same information, but this book is a lot less expensive than when the Monogram book was first released.

One thing that is realised while perusing this book, is that there are a lot of USAAC 'tweeners that have yet to be brought out in model form. There are numerous photographs and color profiles of the Boeing Y1B-7 through -9 series of bombers within the book, but there exists no 1/72nd kit of this machine that I know of. Shame.

My only complaint about this book - and it's minor considering just how much information is contained within the covers - is that the experimental camouflage examples aren't dealt with in enough detail. For example, there is a photo of a Douglas O-25A where the camo is successful enough you can lose the aircraft in the photo, but there is no color information so if you want to model it you're left on your own.

All in all a very worthwhile book. A must if you have any interest in USAAC 'tweeners.
