This
second installment in the US Destroyers series covers the development
and operations of the Farragut, Porter, Mahan, Fanning and Craven-class
destroyers. The title is well-illustrated with nice B&W photographs
whose captions further detail out the history of each vessel in parallel
with the narrative. Scrap drawings are also provided to illustrate the
various types of radar masts, gun mounts, depth charge launchers, and
smoke generators installed on each destroyer class. As is standard in
the 'in Action' series, the centerfold has color profiles of six selected
ships and their camouflage.
This title is another great increment in the photo histories being published
by Squadron/Signal and will be of insterest to the naval historian and
modeler alike.
