I don't know if you spotted the first two books in Osprey's Modelling
series that we reviewed over the last few months, but these titles are
very nicely done!
In this new title, author and modeler Steven Zaloga walks us through
the M3 and M5 Stuart light tanks. Starting with the Academy, AFV Club
and Tamiya kits, he starts off with building standard versions of the
Stuart, then in later chapters, covers the conversions needed to render
other versions as well as modeling other combat vehicles that were based
upon the Stuart chassis.
Each chapter is nicely illustrated with color photography illustrating
the key steps and/or conversions required to achieve a particular variant.
There is also a good mix of photos of details from the actual combat vehicles
being modeled to illustrate how a particular area is supposed to look.
Armor modelers will want to add this to their shelves as this title
will help you transform the existing kits of the Stuart into realistic
models. This title is recommended!
My sincere thanks to Motorbooks
for this review sample!
