FlightDecs' 1/48 Tigermeet of the Americas
|
 |
I remember a questionnaire published in one of the modeling magazines
a few years back asking if we ever bought a model after finding a set
of irresistible decals. I though the idea was silly and dismissed the
idea - until recently. This might have happened when Daco started printing
some of the special Belgian AF F-16 schemes if I didn't already have a
pile of Vipers on the shelf. But what the Belgians do for the F-16, the
Canadians do for the Hornet. Every year there is one or two special schemes
that roll out of the paint shop, but my favorite has to be the 2003 Tiger
Meet of the Americas scheme.
The full-color profiles provide an FS595 equivalent for each of the
three shades of orange as well as the basic airframe colors. Once the
basic colors are painted on your Hornet (CF-188A), FlightDecs has provided
two sheets for the black upper tiger stripes, one sheet with the underside
gray stripes, and the colorful sheet with the vertical stab artwork and
white trim stripes. The results should be magnificent.
My sincere thanks to FlightDecs
for this review sample! My Hasegawa CF-188A just arrived from Hannants
yesterday...
