In
Formation 1/144 Boeing 737 NG Resin Engines
If you have built any of the Revell Boeing 737-800's, you'll know that
it's a fine kit. But as with all kits, there is usually room for some
improvement. The kit's "Next Generation" engines looked great
from the exterior, but fell short on the inside. Of the two "Wow..let's
look in here" holes, they forgot(?) to give it an inlet interior.
What you saw were the two mounting lugs for cementing and the fan sitting
on the bulkhead. Not very "authentic" as Revell used to say.
In
Formation has filled our dream list again. The new and improved engines
are a one piece resin cast. The engine inlet is one smooth transition
into the fan. The front shape of the inlet ring really looks like the
prototype. Another bonus is the hot section has been opened up and a rear
cold section fan has been installed. In Formation has even included the
temperature inlet sensor probe for the fuel control. All but the thrust
reverser panel lines have been removed. Also supplied with the engines
are the two vortex fences. These compare to the brass ones in thickness.
Not sure how to paint your new engines? The instructions come with a
detailed painting guide.
As I said last month about their B-717 kit, In Formation keeps getting
better every new product. These new engines come highly recommended and
will make your 737 NG "all it can be."
Look for this and other fine In Formation products on the DRAW
Decal web site. My thanks to In Formation for the sample.
