By Ray Mehlberger

I previously did a review of resin U-boat crewmen offered by CMK. Since that time, a net friend of mine informed me of another set by Andrea of Madrid, Spain.

This set is cast in white metal and the detail is superb. The kit is packed in a sturdy end opening box that has a tab at one end so it can be hung on a hook when displayed in hobby shops. The figures are sandwiched inside a piece of foam sheet to protect them and there is a coupon you can use to get replacements of any parts you find missing or damaged.

There are five figures in the kit. The commander, two deck officers and two seamen. The commander has his left foot raised and his right arm to rest on something in the conning tower and his arm on the wall. One deck officer is seated and looking over his right shoulder. The other deck officer is looking through a pair of binoculars and has his left foot raised too. One creman is standing and pointing at something in the distance. The other crewman is clad in a rubber rain coat and hat and appears to be running. There is quite a variety of the clothing worn by these figures. Four of the figures have binoculars.

The box art shows them posed on the conning tower of a type VIIC U-boat and they are designed to go on the recent Revell of Germany release of this. This box art makes it look like the sub is sailing through some heavy seas looking for a convoy to torpedo. The poses will make for a great diorama.

I purchased my set from Squadron MMD.
