Yellow Wing Decals 1/48 1" Black and White Pinstripes

Quoting from the instructions, "the Bureau of Aeronautics (BuAer)
the governing body for the U.S. Navy at the time issued a set of standards
or directives as to which pin stripes, black or white, would be used to
separate similar colors. In part it reads: 'All 1" pin stripes shall
be black or white depending upon the color of the background upon which
they are to be applied. The color shall be one of the greatest contrast
in order to give the highest visibility. WHITE shall be used on RED, BLUE,
and BLACK. BLACK shall be used on WHITE, GREEN, YELLOW, GRAY and ALUMINUM.'"
This
deftly sums up the usage of these pinstripes, but in reality the implementation
was spotty at best. You will definitely need to check references to see
if the specific plane you are modeling had the pinstriping or not. The
decals are pretty simple, though, being thin strips of black and white.
These will make a nice accessory to the other Yellow Wing decal sheets.
